GLAD YOU'RE MINE

GLAD YOU'RE MINE was awarded first prize by the "German Music Critic's Award" (PREIS DER DEUTSCHEN SCHALLPLATTENKRITIK), Berlin, 2006.

"Lacocque has achieved the hardest thing of all, which is to find a distinctive 'voice' on the blues harp. He has masterful command of tone and can belt out riffs or stabs when needed but is at his best when taking a lead and constructs beautiful, musical lines, even when in strict blues territory. … Intriguingly, Lacocque achieves an almost clarinet like fluidity at times. … [GLAD YOU'RE MINE] gives singer Inetta Visor the scope to use her fabulous voice. Her vocals are powerful but not strident. She has some gentle qualities in her voice too, and can easily deliver the spread of material on this album. …I like it very much."
– BLUES NEWS (NZ),

"Just wanted to let you know that GLAD YOU'RE MINE is one of the best CDs to come out this year. WC Handy material … it deserves to be heard by all and I dawn sure will do my part to make sure that this happens. I would travel a long ways to see MISSISSIPPI HEAT, one of the best blues bands out there."
– MARK T SMITH – DISC JOCKEY/THE BLUES PILOT (KJLU, MISSOURI)

"Mississippi Heat at its best! WOW, what a great sound. Delightful! … I could hardly imagine you could come up with something better than 'Footprints On The Ceiling', but you managed to do so!"
– PETER OTTENHEIM [HOLLAND] – FESTIVAL PROMOTER, UNSOLICITED E-MAIL

"Highly recommended for an accurate taste of the Blues that is being played in the home of the Blues."
– BLUESWAX (2006)

"Lacocque is a solid harp blower with fine tone an vibrato. (He) raises eyebrows as a soloist.
– LIVING BLUES (JAN/FEB 2006)

"Pierre Lacocque clearly is carrying on the Jr. Wells tradition as a stylish, finesse-oriented harpist."
– CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

"GLAD YOU'RE MINE is filled with unabashed music, straight from Chicago's smoky blues bar. … Undoubtedly, Lacocque is one of the best harp players on today's scene. … Likewise, Visor pours her very being into every note. … This band has ardor."
– BLUESARTSTUDIO (www.bluesartstudio.at, 2006)

"GLAD YOU'RE MINE is an awesome CD. I can see you guys getting all kinds of awards, including a Grammy. You guys have done an awesome job. This could be the Blues CD of the year."
– JOE HARLESS – CEO, SHAKER MICROPHONES (DEC 2005)

FRENCH REVIEWS:

… Je recommande [GLAD YOU’RE MINE] sans réserves."
– ROBERT SACRE – SOUL BAG (FRANCE)
